About Tinoka

  • How long have you been planning destination weddings?
I opened my agency in January of 2016. I completed all the essential training and became a Destination Wedding Planner, Honeymoon Travel Specialist, and Romance Travel Specialist in 2017.

  • Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
I love to travel and have always loved attending events. I also was intrigued by what all went into planning an extraordinary event. Everything from the event decor to theme, music, and cuisine, all play an important role in producing a phenomenal event.

  • What’s your favorite part of the job?
I enjoy different aspects of this career including wedding planning, assisting others, managing the different processes, travel opportunities, training, travel designing, the creative aspects, and project management. Destination wedding specialist have access to countless options in this line of work.

  • Which destination is your favorite and why?
I do not necessarily have a favorite destination. The world holds so many amazing places to travel too, how can I possibly choose! Currently, I am focused on providing destination wedding, honeymoon, and romance travel options within the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and the United States. However, I am open to assisting with planning a destination wedding or vow renewal at any accessible location across the globe. As for romance travel, the choices are endless! I am able to provide honeymoon and romance travel planning and managing services to any accessible location of interest to the couple.

  • Do you have a wedding story you would like to share with us?
During the Destination Vows Conference, I attended different types of beautiful mock destination weddings on the gorgeous shores of Punta Cana and Cap Cana last fall. I was absolutely amazed and happy to see guests in everything from swimwear to eveningwear who attended! The great part about a destination wedding is that the couple has the option as to whether they want a formal, semi-formal, or casual ceremony and reception. They also have the option to add different events on different days, such as a welcome barbecue on day one or bridal brunch on day four, all while on vacation at a magnificent location! What could be better!

  • Do you have a quick tip for us?
I would encourage couples to seek out a romance travel specialist that focuses on destination weddings and honeymoons. There is a significant amount of vendor information, travel knowledge, and wedding consulting that goes into this type of wedding. A destination wedding and honeymoon specialist would definitely help them to access options they may not know about and assist in other areas that they may be unaware of with planning this type of wedding.
